Curium Digital — Unit converter All-in-one / Curium Unit Converter

Curium Digital provides the Android app com.curium.curiumunitconverter. You do not need to create an app account or supply your name, email address or phone number to use its tools. Some integrated services receive data as described below.

1. Calculations and data on your device

Calculations and ordinary unit conversions run on your device. The app stores conversion history, favourites, cached rates and preferences locally. History can include entered values and results. You can clear history from the History screen and remove local app data through Android settings. Android backup and restore may also handle local app data according to your device settings. We do not send your entered numbers, expressions, results or history in our custom Firebase events.

2. Optional usage analytics

In versions with “Share usage analytics” in Settings, this option is off by default. Enabling it allows Google Analytics for Firebase to receive app-instance identifiers, app/device information, approximate location derived from network information, session activity and tool-use events. Our custom events report which tool was opened, a completed calculation, a deliberate conversion-unit change, or viewing the ad-removal offer. Firebase may also record purchase-related events automatically. Automatic screen reporting and Analytics advertising-ID collection are disabled in this version.

Turn the option off to stop future optional Analytics collection and reset Analytics data stored by the SDK on that device. This does not delete information previously received by Google and does not control advertising or scanner SDK data.

3. Advertising and purchases

The app uses Google AdMob. Its SDK can receive network information used to estimate approximate location, device identifiers, advertising interactions and diagnostics to provide and measure ads and help prevent fraud. Advertising data is separate from the optional usage-analytics setting. Android offers advertising-ID controls; available ad choices also depend on the device, region and advertising service.

In the upcoming version, Google's consent service checks whether advertising choices are needed. Where required, a consent form appears, and an "Ad privacy choices" entry in Settings lets you revisit those choices. Ads are requested only when Google's consent service permits them and the app does not recognise an active ad-removal entitlement. Older published versions may behave differently until updated. The optional usage-analytics switch does not change your advertising choices.

Google Play processes purchases. The app receives purchase status and product information to manage the ad-removal entitlement. Payment-card details are not requested by the app. Removing displayed ads is not a promise that every third-party SDK stops processing data.

4. Camera, microphone, location and sensors

Camera: used for the magnifier and barcode/QR scanners. These tools process camera images on the device; app code does not upload or save camera recordings. Google's ML Kit scanner can send installation identifiers, device/app information and operational metrics for diagnostics and usage analysis. If you choose Open on a scanned link, the destination receives a normal browser request. Copy actions place results on your clipboard.

Microphone: used when you activate Voice to Text. The device's speech-recognition provider may send audio to its servers. The current app does not guarantee offline recognition. Curium does not maintain an audio-recording archive; recognised text appears in the tool and can be copied at your request.

Location: the speedometer uses location updates while that tool is active to calculate speed. App code does not upload GPS coordinates or maintain a location-history service. Currency rates do not require GPS. Approximate location associated with advertising and analytics is separate.

Sensors and notifications: tools use motion and compass sensors on the device. Android may ask for notification permission during startup. You can manage permissions in Android settings; denying a permission may disable the corresponding feature.

5. Currency and cryptocurrency services

The app requests exchange rates from open.er-api.com and cryptocurrency market data from api.binance.com. Requests can include market symbols and time intervals. They do not include your calculation amounts, but the providers receive network information such as IP addresses and request metadata. These requests are not described as anonymous.

6. Retention, security and requests

Local information remains until cleared, replaced or removed, subject to device backup behaviour. For optional Google Analytics, the property is configured to retain event-level data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. New user activity resets the user-data retention period. These controls do not affect most aggregated standard reports and are not a promise that all provider data is erased after these periods. Other integrated providers retain information under their service settings and policies. Contact us for questions about information associated with the app or a deletion request; we will explain what we can identify and act on, and any provider steps required. Resetting an advertising ID or switching off analytics does not by itself erase previously collected server data.

The app's configured rate APIs and Google's described Analytics, advertising and ML Kit transfers use encrypted connections. No service can guarantee zero risk. External links and device speech services operate under their own policies.

7. Children and policy updates

The app is intended for teenagers aged 13 and older and adults. It is not designed or directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us so we can investigate. We will update this policy when our practices change and show the actual update date.
